So, while you guys were out being cool last night, I was out seeing Wicked in Sydney (which is what Sean's surprise event for the New Year turned out to be). It was just a great experience overall, seriously. Galinda's voice had a beautiful range and could hit really impressive high notes, but Elphaba just had so much raw power in her voice that I can't decide who was the better singer. It had more of a sense of humour about itself than I had expected, too. What kind of person steals a dead woman's shoes, indeed.
At the end, Bert Newton (who was a, dare I say it, wonderful Wizard) came out to wish us all a happy New Year and, after going back on his offer to recite from memory Kevin Rudd's inauguration speech, led the cast and audience in "Auld Lang Syne".

So, this week I've started playing Mass Effect. My character is a female Vanguard, mostly Renegade. With regard to the infamous romantic subplots... well, I had lesbian sex with a prostitute "consort"* early in the game, and I was kinda rude to the male romance option early on, so maybe I'll be pursuing the lesbian sex.
( Cut for pictures: Impressions of the characters )
* My party members at the time were Kaidan and Garrus, and I'm fairly sure they just stood inside the door and watched. This may explain why Kaidan suddenly started talking to me again.

Help! I'm tied to the table with a lassoo of truth and I'm typing this with my tongue!
I just finished The Time-Traveller's Wife.
I need to write this down so I remember in a few weeks time, but I feel pretty affected by it. I won't share any further thoughts for those of you who want to listen to my opinions only at book club, and for those of you who don't want spoilers, but... man.

Just an FYI - anyone who wants to come to any future beauty days and hasn't already friended my sister, there's a post about a new beauty day here.
Also, she's asked me to ask you to please reply with a day or she will just pick at random.

Book club people (you know who you are... and if you know someone involved who won't be reading this, please pass it along!)

It looks like a grinning wolf. Look, the two top bits are clearly ears, the two top white bits are eyes, and the two bottom white bits are it's grinning mouth. The bit in the middle and the point at the bottom are it's snout.
It seems so obvious to me, I don't know how it could be anything but. Am I a secret furry?
Spent a week in Queensland. I'm back from Queensland.
Here's Sean's blog on the subject, which I helped with a little. It will hopefully soon have more pictures and things of the rest of the week, which we never ended up posting.
But for now, here is a quote from a RP.
"Love is a very strange thing, isn't it? I think I would run through fire for you, though I hope that I don't ever have to find out. But if it's a choice between you and Charlie, like... like if you were both behind a... wall of fire and I could only save one of you... I have to choose Charlie. And in this case, it's not a wall of fire, but marriage and a baby, and... it's easier to marry someone and have their son than to actually run through fire, so I'm glad in a way that this is the choice I have to make, because marrying Charlie doesn't kill you like a wall of fire would. Does that make sense?"

This is my sister's new LJ; future updates about beauty stuff and required models will be here.
Suz's thing will be Thursday at 12pm, for those of you who are interested.
Those of you who remember me from a few years ago, know that when I was 14 (and, coincidentally, at the height of his last media attention), I was totally in love with Michael Jackson. I loved his music, loved learning about him... there's still a bunch of stuff about him on my wall at home. Not because I'm still that creepy, I assure you, but because I haven't taken it down.
Yeah, I know - I was quite a bit creepy then. I admit it.
But now, according to reports, Michael Jackson has died. I almost didn't want to make this post just in case it turned out those reports were wrong, but what the heck - if they were wrong, I will re-date this post for when it is true.
What can I say? I really liked his music. That's the number one thing. I don't think I can add much more than that. There's nothing much more to say. I didn't know him personally. He didn't directly affect my life at all. But, you know, I genuinely liked his music.
RIP, Michael Jackson. Your music was pretty awesome.

Suz wants to have another practice day soon, but she doesn't know when (as yet). If anyone wants to get something done, let me know when you're available.
ETA: Suz is free next week on Wednesday and Thursday. How does that sound to you guys? Which would be more convenient?
ETA Part 2: It'll be Thursday at 12pm, for any of you who are keen.

Also, anyone who is available to be an underarm model for Suz on Wednesday, can you let me know very soon, please? She has someone else that may be able to do it but she's got to let them know in time. <3
Suz needs an underarm waxing model for her Wednesday class - she needs to resit the underarm portion because her previous model was unable to have underarm waxing done.
If anyone is available, please let us know. :)

- 13:20 I am pretty much on the brink of dying of boredom. #
- 13:26 Although, hey, I'm doing the MS Readathon this year. You all want to sponsor me for lots of money, y/y #
- 14:42 Om nom nom glazed doughnuts #
Just a headsup; appointments for waxing, tinting, etc are happening at the TAFE tomorrow from 2/2:30. If you want, you can make an appointment and specifically request Suz to do you.
If you didn't want to do this, Suz does need practice so if you want to come around to my house on Saturday any time after 9am, you can come around and get leg wax, eyebrow wax, brow and lash tinting, lip waxing or arm and underarm waxing, please come around and get your body messed with (in a good way, that you consent to), and hang out and eat lunch.
Let me know in advance if you're planning to stop by so we can work something out and we know what to expect. :)
If you don't have my address, then let me know and I'll get in touch. Thanks!

- 16:17 Man, it is so cold and wet today. Brrrr. #
- 19:37 Highlight of my day - one of my customers REALLY looked like Rick Moranis. #
Don't stress; Suzie found a model.
Update on this post...
Suz still needs a model on either the 3rd or the 10th, but it has been changed to both underarm and bikini, not either/or.

- 23:06 @liveoutloudster FiranMUX. My character got married about 2 and a half IC years ago, and about an IC year ago his wife just vanished. #
- 23:08 I hate when an author introduces a plot thread near the end and then abandons it. It means either he gave up or he wants to write a sequel. #
- 23:20 Also, I do hope the book doesn't have a sequel. I'd rather read fanfiction explaining the plot thread than have the 'trilogy' reach ELEVEN. #
- 01:00 Haha, mav out of nowhere. Logged and blogged: [Help] Ion says, "Yes, size does matter" #
- 20:56 @filbypott You don't think he got that rich by SPENDING his money, do you? #
